Hayyim ibn Attar’s Or Ha-Hayyim combines close biblical interpretation, rabbinic tradition, ethical teaching, and Kabbalistic ideas. Written by a Moroccan scholar whose travels took him through Livorno to Jerusalem, the commentary reflects intellectual networks extending across North Africa, Italy, and the Ottoman Middle East.
