Rabbi Ovadia has worked throughout the world as both Rabbi and Hazzan and is extremely familiar with the Sephardic customs and liturgies of the Iraqi, Moroccan, Persian, Syrian, and Yemeni communities. He is an expert (Posek) in Jewish Law (Halakha). Rabbi Ovadia was born and grew up in Israel, he is of Iraqi descent, spending his career creating and building communities in Israel, Colombia, New Jersey, New York, California and Washington, D.C.. Rabbi Ovadia has taught at various colleges in L.A. and NY. Rabbi Ovadia's education includes a Bachelors in Talmud from "Bar Ilan University" and a Masters in Near Eastern Languages and Cultures and Hebrew Liturgy from "UCLA". His Rabbinic Ordination comes from the Sephardic Chief Rabbi of Israel, Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu Z"L. A descendent of the Fetaya Rabbinic dynasty of 8 generations, including Kabbalist, Hakham Yehuda Fetaya Z"L.
