Psalm 42
1לַמְנַצֵּחַ מַשְׂכִּיל לִבְנֵי־קֹרַח׃
2כְּאַיָּל תַּעֲרֹג עַל־אֲפִיקֵי־מָיִם כֵּן נַפְשִׁי תַעֲרֹג אֵלֶיךָ אֱלֹהִים׃
3צָמְאָה נַפְשִׁי לֵאלֹהִים לְאֵל חָי מָתַי אָבוֹא וְאֵרָאֶה פְּנֵי אֱלֹהִים׃
4הָיְתָה־לִּי דִמְעָתִי לֶחֶם יוֹמָם וָלָיְלָה בֶּאֱמֹר אֵלַי כָּל־הַיּוֹם אַיֵּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃
5אֵלֶּה אֶזְכְּרָה וְאֶשְׁפְּכָה עָלַי נַפְשִׁי כִּי אֶעֱבֹר בַּסָּךְ אֶדַּדֵּם עַד־בֵּית אֱלֹהִים בְּקוֹל־רִנָּה וְתוֹדָה הָמוֹן חוֹגֵג׃
6מַה־תִּשְׁתּוֹחֲחִי נַפְשִׁי וַתֶּהֱמִי עָלָי הוֹחִילִי לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־עוֹד אוֹדֶנּוּ יְשׁוּעוֹת פָּנָיו׃
7אֱלֹהַי עָלַי נַפְשִׁי תִשְׁתּוֹחָח עַל־כֵּן אֶזְכָּרְךָ מֵאֶרֶץ יַרְדֵּן וְחֶרְמוֹנִים מֵהַר מִצְעָר׃
8תְּהוֹם־אֶל־תְּהוֹם קוֹרֵא לְקוֹל צִנּוֹרֶיךָ כָּל־מִשְׁבָּרֶיךָ וְגַלֶּיךָ עָלַי עָבָרוּ׃
9יוֹמָם יְצַוֶּה יְהוָה חַסְדּוֹ וּבַלַּיְלָה שירה [שִׁירוֹ] עִמִּי תְּפִלָּה לְאֵל חַיָּי׃
10אוֹמְרָה לְאֵל סַלְעִי לָמָה שְׁכַחְתָּנִי לָמָּה־קֹדֵר אֵלֵךְ בְּלַחַץ אוֹיֵב׃
11בְּרֶצַח בְּעַצְמוֹתַי חֵרְפוּנִי צוֹרְרָי בְּאָמְרָם אֵלַי כָּל־הַיּוֹם אַיֵּה אֱלֹהֶיךָ׃
12מַה־תִּשְׁתּוֹחֲחִי נַפְשִׁי וּמַה־תֶּהֱמִי עָלָי הוֹחִילִי לֵאלֹהִים כִּי־עוֹד אוֹדֶנּוּ יְשׁוּעֹת פָּנַי וֵאלֹהָי׃
1For the Leader; Maschil of the sons of Korah.
2As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after Thee, O God.
3My soul thirsteth for God, for the living God: 'When shall I come and appear before God?'
4My tears have been my food day and night, while they say unto me all the day: 'Where is Thy God?'
5These things I remember, and pour out my soul within me, how I passed on with the throng, and led them to the house of God, with the voice of joy and praise, a multitude keeping holyday.
6Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why moanest thou within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise Him for the salvation of His countenance.
7O my God, my soul is cast down within me; therefore do I remember Thee from the land of Jordan, and the Hermons, from the hill Mizar.
8Deep calleth unto deep at the voice of Thy cataracts; all Thy waves and Thy billows are gone over me.
9By day the LORD will command His lovingkindness, and in the night His song shall be with me, even a prayer unto the God of my life.
10I will say unto God my Rock: 'Why hast Thou forgotten me? Why go I mourning under the oppression of the enemy?'
11As with a crushing in my bones, mine adversaries taunt me; while they say unto me all the day: 'Where is Thy God?'
12Why art thou cast down, O my soul? And why moanest thou within me? Hope thou in God; for I shall yet praise Him, the salvation of my countenance, and my God.

2Como el ciervo suspira por las corrientes de agua, así suspira por ti, oh Elohim, mi alma.
3Mi alma tiene sed de Elohim, del Elohim vivo. ¿Cuándo podré ir a presentarme ante Elohim?
4De día y de noche mis lágrimas han sido mi alimento, mientras todo el tiempo me preguntan: «¿Dónde está tu Elohim?»
5Me acuerdo de esto y se me rompe el alma: cuando iba con la multitud, caminando hacia la casa de Elohim, entre gritos de alegría y agradecimiento de una fiesta.
6¿Por qué te angustias, alma mía, y por qué te inquietas dentro de mí? Confía en Elohim, porque aún tengo motivos para alabarlo. ¡Él es quien salva mi vida,
7¡y mi Elohim! Ahora mi alma está decaída. Por eso me acordaré de ti, desde la tierra del Iardén (Jordán) y del Hermón, desde el monte Mizar.
8Un abismo llama a otro con el ruido de tus cascadas; todas tus olas y tus corrientes han pasado sobre mí.
9De día, Hashem envía su amor, y de noche su canción me acompaña; es una oración al Elohim de mi vida.
10Le diré a Elohim: «Roca mía, ¿por qué me has olvidado? ¿Por qué tengo que andar triste por la presión del enemigo?»
11Mis huesos se quiebran de dolor, y mis enemigos se burlan de mí diciéndome a cada rato: «¿Dónde está tu Elohim?»
12¿Por qué te angustias, alma mía, y por qué te inquietas dentro de mí? Confía en Elohim, porque aún tengo motivos para alabarlo. ¡Él es quien salva mi vida, y mi Elohim!
